The birth of Energy Atlantica

After 10 years working for others in the energy and manufacturing industries, Todd founds Energy Atlantica


First hire.

The birth of GIVETOLIVE

GIVETOLIVE is founded by Todd and Ashley.


The Trading Floor

Trading floor is launched - 3 commercial traders managing natural gas for large industrial users and producers


The first BIG RIDE

EA employees organize and complete the first of three epic relay-cycles from Canada to Texas, raising $600,000 for various cancer charities and spawning the BIG RIDE

The first BIG SWIM

1st ever BIG SWIM from New Brunswick to PEI, a 17km ocean swim to raise money for children with chronic illnesses.

BIG RIDE takes on the 300km Cabot Trail in Cape Breton

2nd Annual BIG SWIM - Energy Trader Heather McGrath takes over as Event Director of The BIG SWIM, a role which would see her grow the event to 100 annual participants and over $1 million raised for Brigadoon Village

A family starts a new life

GIVETOLIVE raises $50,000 to sponsor and bring a Syrian-refugee family of 4 to Halifax. They have since begun English lessons, founded a society to help other Syrian newcomers and are running a weekend school to teach English, Arabic and computers to over 120 students! It took 12 months of planning, paperwork, finding an apartment and getting furnishings, liaising with the Al Rifai family and working hard to get the kogistics in place for them to come to Canada.

Finally last November Ashley and her team met Loae, Enas and their two children at the Halifax International Airport with open arms, winter coats and a key to their new home.
